Getting the best performance from your Hub

SmartThings Hubs come in several shapes and sizes. Whichever Hub you’re using, we’ve got some simple tips for getting optimal performance from it.

    Put your Hub in a central location

    Just like the sun, your Hub should be at the center of your SmartThings universe.

    Don't put your Hub too close to a Wi-Fi router

    To avoid interference, put your Hub as far from your Wi-Fi router as the ethernet cable will allow. (Doesn’t apply to SmartThings Link, ADT Home Security Hub or Samsung Home Connect.)

    Keep your smart devices within 50 feet of your Hub

    Some Things may need to be closer, and some Things can actually extend your Hub’s reach. More on that here.

    Check your Hub's status

    In the SmartThings Classic app, go to the More screen to see how your Hub is doing. (Note: On iOS devices, More is accessed from the bottom right.)
